Under the Tuscan sun….with wild toddlers. Tuscany was never a place I thought would be child friendly, but I was pleasantly surprised by how seamless it was to travel with children in this area.
One of the main accommodations in Tuscany is Agriturismo. Functioning wineries and farms are also accommodations, similar to a bed and breakfast, with much more going on. Luckily, most of these accommodations are also child friendly due to their expansive grounds, usual farm animals, and other sites on the property.
I used CiaoBambino.com when searching for accommodations, but a simple google search can also lead you where you need to be.
We landed on a resort called Borgo Pignano. It was absolutely beautiful and had a lot to offer location-wise and on the property. There were many activities, animals, and lots of room for the kids to run. Upon arriving, we were a little intimidated by the resort’s luxury but never felt out of place with the kids, and other visitors also had children there.
We traveled with my sister-in-law and her family and shared a maisonette with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a small living area.
There were two restaurants at the property, but we also ate in our maisonette a lot due to the kids and working kitchen.
One of the highlights of our trip was the organic wine tours. We used Tuscan Organic Tours, and we still talk about what a fun experience this was. See the blog post on wine tour specifics!
