Upon leaving a trip in Switzerland, we drove down Lake Como to begin the Italian part of our trip. It was the perfect introduction to Italy.
Accommodations: We stayed at the Grand Hotel Imperiale Lake Como, and this place made the entire experience. From the accommodations to the location to the food and drinks, it was all such an experience. The hotel was very child friendly, and the staff had many recommendations to give us on things to do or where to eat.
Where to Eat: We ate most of our meals at the hotel due to the short duration we were in Lake Como. They had a great restaurant and were even gracious enough to prepare a meal and set it up on our balcony for our final night. They had also recommended a great restaurant in town called La Moltrasina. So delicious and felt like a local place. Also very friendly to the kids.
For our one full day, we took the Ferry over to Bellagio. The kids had a great time being on the boat; it was a great way to see the lake. Bellagio was beautiful but did feel a little touristy, as a heads up. If you are looking for something more authentic, you may want to look into renting your own boat for the day or checking out some of the other cities on the lake.
